I am passionate about personal growth and self-actualization which can emerge through the therapeutic process. I believe everything that occurs in life is not by accident, but are in fact lessons to be used in grasping one’s own meaning of life. Although I tend to favor experiential approaches, my theoretical orientation focuses on an integrative style of therapy. I begin with the client gradually building a foundation of acceptance and trust that is both affirming and non-judgmental. A successful therapeutic relationship is built upon making a connection through engagement allowing a client the freedom to just “be.”
My concentration focuses on working with diversity, specifically, culture, gender, sexual orientation, and spirituality. I pay special attention to these integral factors in my therapy practice and encourage my clients to build their own self-awareness skills to ultimately achieve self-acceptance.
I have advanced clinical experience working with clients, predominantly within the LGBTQ community, facing life adjustments due to health and grief issues.
